Brief History of the bust of Lenin and Cavriago

The story that binds to Lenin Cavriago and his bust from afar

was 1918. In those years within the Socialist Party of Cavriago the debate was raging between the reformist positions and those of the ceilings. At the time the base of the party looked to the Russian Bolshevism and Lenin to his head as a model to inspire the struggle. In January 1919, the Social Circle of Cavriago sent to the journal The Next in the agenda of praise for its intransigent positions and support for Spartacists Germans and the Soviets and Russians in particular the revolutionary work of Lenin.

The agenda was released from the front and ended it in the hands of Lenin March 6, 1919 that quoted him in a speech to a meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet of Moscow, arguing that precisely in Italy "a place called" Cavriago "in the middle of the Po Valley" after the workers gathered in a public assembly agreed and expressed his sympathy to the newspaper "The Next" to his position of intransigence, and expressing the wish of the revolutionary Russians and Germans that their ideas are accepted throughout the world and this was certainly a strong and unequivocal that the masses were in Italy on their side have understood the meaning of revolution and their Soviet program.
At the end of World War I current maximalist assume a dominant role in the political context of Cavriago. Local elections of 1920, see the clear statement of the Socialist list and the appointment of a Mayor Cavecchi.
count the votes shows that the election for Mayor of Cavriago, a vote was symbolically given to Lenin. There is no formal act by which one can infer the contribution of the first title of honorary citizen to the leader of Bolshevism, but certainly the symbolic value of this gesture is strong and unequivocal evidence and a passionate bond between the people and fellow socialist revolutionaries Cavriago Russians.
the sitting of 6 September 1921 the City Council approves a Cavriago Odg with which "welcoming the invocation of pain and hunger that came from Russia and interpreting more than moral help, even a material allowance of 500 lire by way of encouragement to continue the struggle of the Soviet proletariat to achieve the final victory of the Bolshevik revolution.

NOT everyone knows that there are busts Cavriago (TWO)
We come to the facts first, then the original historic bronze was created in 1922 by workers in a city in Ukraine (Woroshilovgrad). In 1942 he became spoils of war for the fascist occupying forces that carried him in Italy, the bust can still see the hole where a bullet shot to inveigh against a symbol of the revolution Russian. After the Liberation, the bust was recovered in Tuscany and delivered the Soviet Embassy in Rome. Later it was then donated to the City of Cavriago and placed in the entrance of the Cultural Center in transparent glass case covering it.
On April 19, 1970 in celebration of the first centenary of the birth of Lenin, the founder was named a square in the center of the Soviet Union and the original bust, after approximately one year later in 1971 at twinning with the town of Benderj (Moldova) to 'the USSR era. was given a second envelope and placed in the square by replacing the original with this exact copy, even then the victim of some vandalism.
The bust of Lenin, on which so much has been said and written, a book by a writer Giuseppe Reggiano Caliceti who in his novel and wanted to pass on to tell a strong testimony of some citizens of Cavriago that in an attempt to stop a story too fast, beyond any misrepresentation of facts, proceedings, bring a strong civil and political passion, in an attempt to witness history tied to Cavriago.
This certainly is the historical and chronological list taken from documents known to the history of the bust of Lenin in Cavriago even though I tried to summarize them very much. Ezio

Just think how in 1971, when the bust of Lenin was Cavriago donated to the population, including the DC Cavriago saw in Lenin and what happened in the USSR then something positive (as evidenced by the documents). I think the important thing is not to deny their past. Accept their own history, private or collective, perhaps even with its difficulties or its mistakes, it's more healthy and positive that deny or reinvent it. A story is always a value.
There is an ethical value that unites secular and lay people: to give young people a better world than we live. It is now called into question. But what should be a guiding star for future generations.
I think some time in Italy to be witnessing a kind of removal and re-reading of national history for the use and consumption of those who govern us today. It happens constantly promoting a kind of youthfulness: the elderly and their history are no longer seen as a treasure of experience and wisdom, but as a burden, for example, elementary schools will teach as many hours of history of religion, this should food for thought.
